Ingrown nails are a regular issue, and when traditional treatment is not resolving the issue, a partial or total nail avulsion is utilized by the Dermatologists.
Nail Avulsion is carried out under local anesthesia. This technique includes having either a part of the complete nail being removed and the application of a chemical inhibits the wrong part of the nail to grow. Patients are recommended not to drive after this technique and keep weight-bearing activity to a minimum for the day of the treatment. The wound will be examined on a regular basis and the proper dressings provided.
